KENT, Wash. - The Portland Winterhawks have put a slow start to the season behind them after earning their 10th straight victory on Friday by beating the host Seattle Thunderbirds 5-2 in Western Hockey League action. Taylor Leier and Brendan Leipsic each scored twice for the Winterhawks (13-3-1), who opened the campaign 3-3-1, while Garret Haar added a single goal.
