Liverpool looking to extend Tottenham's Anfield misery as Klopp and Pochettino go head to head

sb0bet Spurs record at Anfield in recent years is poor - and Reds are out for revenge after Wembley humbling

Tottenham Hotspur arrive at Anfield having won just once there since 1994.

That solitary triumph came back in 2011, when Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric struck to condemn Liverpool to a 2-0 defeat.

However, Spurs have had limited success aside from this.

Last year's Anfield instalment saw the Reds reign supreme, Sadio Mane inspiring them to a 2-0 success.

Their recent aberration against West Brom aside, Liverpool's home form has been excellent. Indeed, Jurgen Klopp's men haven't lost in the league since Sam Allardyce's Crystal Palace were 2-1 victors last April.

Spurs, of course, will enter this match in high spirits having defeated Manchester United 2-0 in midweek. Mauricio Pochettino's side can also reflect on the 4-1 humbling they dished out when they met Liverpool at Wembley in October.

Here, though, is a rundown of the last five Anfield meetings...

Liverpool 2-0 Tottenham- 11/02/17, Premier League

The last meeting between the clubs saw the Reds comfortably dispose of Pochettino's men at Anfield.

It was the Sadio Mane show, as two goals in two minutes from the jet heeled winger sealed a brace individually and three points collectively.

Makeshift centre back Lucas Leiva did a fine job in keeping the free-scoring Harry Kane from causing mayhem as the Reds defence barely allowed the away side a sniff at goal for the entire game.

Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham- 25/10/16, League Cup Fourth Round
Prior to Mane's brace, another double settled this League Cup tie - and Daniel Sturridge was the man who got it.

An early opener from the English striker set the tone for the rest of the match, making it tough for Spurs to find a way back.

Sturridge's second goal looked to kill off any hopes the away side had of progressing to the quarter finals. sb0bet

However, Spurs were presented a lifeline by Klopp's men with a quarter of an hour remaining.

Lucas clumsily brought down Erik Lamela in the box, resulting in a penalty. Vincent Janssen duly converted from close range, but the visitors could not find an equaliser.

Liverpool 1-1 Tottenham- Premier League, 02/04/16
This game came towards the latter stages of the 15/16 season, and was one which held little meaning for Liverpool but was of paramount importance to Spurs.

This draw dented Tottenham's title hopes, and meant keeping chase with league leaders Leicester proved challenging as it opened up a four point gap for the Foxes with six games to go.
Philippe Coutinho combined with Daniel Sturridge brilliantly to give Liverpool the lead, their give and go creating space for the Brazilian, who curled one in from close range to beat Hugo Lloris.

It was a case of cometh the hour, cometh the man for Spurs as Kane fired his side level ten minutes later with a touch of brilliance.

His drop of the shoulder dumbfounded Dejan Lovren, allowing the striker to engineer room to shoot. His low effort found the bottom right corner.

Liverpool 3-2 Tottenham- Premier League, 10/2/15

A dramatic encounter which involved two unlikely goal-getters finding their names on the scoresheet.

Lazar Markovic struck first blood in the 15th minute, though Kane fought back for Spurs with a goal of his own 10 minutes later, in what was his first Anfield appearance.

In the second half, Daniel Sturridge was clumsily taken down inside the box by Danny Rose, presenting Steven Gerrard the opportunity to recapture Liverpool's advantage. He duly did so.

The visitors restored parity as Mousa Dembele bundled in Christian Eriksen's free-kick.

But with just over five minutes left to play, Mario Balotelli won the match with his first (and only) league goal of the season.

Liverpool 4-0 Tottenham- Premier League, 30/3/14

Having already defeated Spurs 5-0 at White Hart Lane in December of that season; the return fixture brought more of the same, as a flurry of Liverpool goals condemned the away side to another humiliation.

Just two minutes had been played before Liverpool opened their account.

Glen Johnson's attempted cross into the box failed to find its way to Sturridge and Raheem Sterling, who were on hand to pounce. Instead, the blundering Younes Kaboul sent the ball into the back of his own net to gift Brendan Rodgers' men an early lead.

Luis Suarez doubled the Reds' advantage soon after this.

The Uruguayan fired a shot on his weaker left foot that emphatically beat Lloris into the far corner after a Michael Dawson mistake.

Coutinho made it three with a drilled shot from outside the area, and Jordan Henderson completed the rout with a free-kick into the box which deceived everyone and drifted in.
