Hi,
Right now I am in Software Support. I want to move to Software QA. I have been doing some QA work recently and I realized that I really enjoy it and am good at it (based on very positive feedback from other QA engineers). As such, I am considering asking management for a transfer. Reasons are as follows:
- I found out that I am most productive when I am not interrupted for long periods of time. With support, since we answer phones and online chats, interrupts are extremely regular. This prevents me from going into my "flow" and really focus on the issues I am working on. It is annoying and stressful. (apparently this "flow" is a well-researched phenomenon in psychology and really affects employee satisfaction and happiness as well)
Please help.
I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
