Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick last Thursday has been loud and it hasn’t been too complimentary of General Manager Dave Gettleman. It’s clear that Gettleman has heard that criticism as he’s attempted to explain his thought process on multiple occasions since making Jones the heir apparent to Eli Manning. During an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio Youth Ryan Connelly Jersey , Jones said he hasn’t been tuned in to what others have been saying about the choice.“I haven’t paid too much mind to that,” Jones said. “I think that’s key to playing quarterback, to being consistent as a quarterback, is keeping your head in the same place. I think that just comes down to your confidence in yourself, and your confidence has got to come from inside of you. I think if you’re looking externally for confidence, then you’re also going to be affected by the negative as well. Just finding confidence in yourself and knowing what you can do as a player Womens Ryan Connelly Jersey , as a person, is kind of the way that works and the best way to think about handling a lot of that stuff.”The questions for Gettleman have been much more about the process he followed to get Jones than on the player that Jones was at Duke and could be in the future. Jones had no control over that process, but he will have much more control about where things go from here and he’ll start work with the team at rookie minicamp later this week. They have to find a way to keep Landon Collins in a Giants uniform in 2019, and they have to find an upgrade from Curtis Riley as Collins’ partner in the back of the defense. We have already discussed Adrian Amos [free-agent profile] Authentic Ryan Connelly Jersey , Lamarcus Joyner [free-agent profile] and Tre Boston [free-agent profile]. Today, let’s turn our attention to another of the top free safeties who could reach the open market next month — Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix of the Washington Redskins. The basicsAge: 26Height: 6-foot-1 | Weight: 208:Position: SafetyExperience: 52018 salary cap hit: $3.153 million2018 stats (2 teams): Games (16 — all starts) | Interceptions (3) | Tackles (93) | Passes defensed (6) | Forced fumbles (2)Pro Football Focus: Overall grade (79.3 — career-high) | Run defense (70.3) | Tackling (82.4 — 8 missed tackles) | Pass coverage (82.0 — career-high) | Passer rating against (76.2) | Yards allowed per reception (9.1 — career-best)The skinny In five seasons, the Green Bay Packers 2014 first-round pick (21st overall) has been a good but not great player. He has one Pro Bowl appearance and was a second-team All-Pro in 2016. Midway through the 2018 season the Packers traded Clinton-Dix to the Washington Redskins.Clinton-Dix could return to the Redskins, but there appears to be uncertainty about that.SI.com lists Clinton-Dix as the No. 73 available free agent on its list of the top 100, but says “His body and athleticism are tantalizing, but he has not developed the necessary discipline to fulfill his potential.”Spotrac estimates that Clinton-Dix could be looking at a contract in the neighborhood of five years Ryan Connelly Jersey Boys , $49.5 million — roughly $9.9 million annually. The Giants, as we have discussed multiple times, also have to find a way to pay Collins. Using the franchise tag on Collins is estimated to cost around $12 million. Spotrac estimates a long-term deal for Collins on the free agent market to be worth in the area of five years and $6.8 million, or $9.366 million annually.Could the Giants commit that much money to the safety position? Is Clinton-Dix worth that kind of investment?Your thoughts, Giants fans?
